Reconstruction has started at Beachview Villas, a project intended to help the island recover after Hurricane Ian. The new luxury villas are being built on the site where Beachview Cottages once stood before they were destroyed by the hurricane in 2022.
The development, previously called White Pelican Villas, is part of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts’ (SCBR) ongoing efforts to restore important places for both residents and visitors. SCBR has been active in shaping the hospitality industry on Sanibel and Captiva for many years, focusing on responsible development while maintaining the islands’ character.
“Having acquired Beachview in 1979, we are proud to honor the property’s rich heritage while thoughtfully rebuilding for the future,” said Tony Lapi, President and Chairman of the Board of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts.
The redesigned Beachview Villas will feature luxury accommodations aimed at providing guests with privacy and comfort. Each villa will include spacious indoor and outdoor areas, full kitchens, and shared spaces for families and friends to gather.
A new website for Beachview Villas has launched at https://beachview-villas.com/, offering information about the project and allowing visitors to sign up for updates. Reservations are expected to open in spring 2026 with an anticipated opening date in summer 2026.
