The U.S. Census Bureau has announced it will release three reports detailing national statistics on income, poverty, and health insurance coverage for 2024. The findings will be presented at an online news conference scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. EDT.
The reports—Income in the United States: 2024, Poverty in the United States: 2024, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2024—are based on data from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). These documents provide annual estimates on earnings, inequality, official poverty rates, supplemental poverty measures, and health insurance coverage trends across the country.
David Waddington, chief of the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division; Sharon Stern, assistant division chief for Employment Characteristics; Liana Fox, assistant division chief for Economic Characteristics; and Julie Iriondo, chief of the Media Relations Branch in the Public Information Office will participate in presenting the findings. Iriondo will serve as moderator.
A question-and-answer session is planned to follow the presentation. Members of media outlets can participate via phone or through Webex by Cisco using provided access details. According to the Census Bureau’s announcement: “The Census Bureau plans to post the reports, data tables and news release to the Income, Poverty and Health Insurance press kit online shortly after the news conference begins.”
Those interested in interviewing subject-matter experts can contact the Census Bureau’s Public Information Office by email or phone.
