The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will recognize the efforts of local first responders by offering them free admission on September 12. The event, called First Responders Day, is open to law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics as a gesture of appreciation for their service.

During the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can interact with personnel from local agencies. A fire engine and truck from the Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Department will be present between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with crews distributing items for children. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will also participate by providing sticker badges and displaying special equipment.

First responders seeking free admission must show proof of employment at the gate on September 12; tickets are not available online.

“The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is home to more than 350 animals in Sanford, Florida. As a not-for-profit organization, it is a leader in conservation, creating connections that inspire people to take action for wildlife. More information is available at www.centralfloridazoo.org.”
