Registration is now open for the 55th International Convention of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU), and members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) are eligible to participate. The convention will take place at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, located at 265 Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Georgia.

The annual CBTU Convention gathers trade unionists from around the country to discuss key labor issues. At last year’s event, IAM members participated in workshops focused on organizing, conflict resolution, leadership development, and strategies for building union strength within the broader labor movement.

A group room rate of $185 per night plus applicable taxes has been secured at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for attendees. Reservations must be made by April 24, 2026, to receive this rate. A one-night credit card deposit is required when booking; this deposit is refundable if canceled by April 15, 2026. After the cutoff date, reservations will depend on availability and may be subject to higher rates.

Hotel reservations can be made through the official CBTU booking link, which is recommended as the preferred method. Alternatively, IAM members can book by phone at 1-877-803-7534 using “CBTU” as a reference.

“IAM members attended workshops on organizing, conflict resolution, leadership development, building power, and sharing strategies to strengthen our union and the broader labor movement,” according to information from last year’s convention.
