Cosmic Baseball, a new take on the traditional sport featuring glow-in-the-dark elements, is scheduled to come to Jacksonville on March 21. The event will be held at VyStar Ballpark and will feature two professional teams, The Cosmic Chili Peppers and The Glow Mojis, playing under black light. The experience includes neon uniforms and UV-reactive baseballs.
The event has previously been featured on major outlets such as The Today Show, ABC News, Sports Illustrated, and MLB Network. Organizers describe the show as combining baseball with neon-themed entertainment. VyStar Ballpark is home to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, who are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and compete in the International League. The team has received several marketing and sales awards since its rebranding in 2017 and leads Florida in attendance among minor league sports organizations. In addition to baseball games, VyStar Ballpark hosts various community events aimed at providing affordable family entertainment for Northeast Florida.
