The Daytona Aquarium & Rainforest Adventure has expanded its offerings this summer with the opening of a new rainforest section. The addition features various species, including toucans, sloths, otters, and tamarins. The aquarium, which opened last year and covers 55,000 square feet, also includes over 50 exhibits such as a large shark tank and a stingray touch pool. Updates on the official opening date for the rainforest section will be shared on the aquarium’s website and social media channels.

The Marine Science Center reopened to visitors on June 24 after undergoing a $4.2 million renovation that started in September of last year. The center was closed for about nine months while improvements were made to marine exhibits, educational spaces, and visitor amenities. New attractions have been added to help educate the public about marine ecosystems.

After two and a half years of renovations, the Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Home & Gravesite is now open again. This National Historic Landmark is located at Bethune-Cookman University and contains artifacts and photographs documenting Dr. Bethune’s legacy as an educator and civil rights leader.
