The Monique Burr Foundation for Children (MBF) announced that its 2025 Dream Finders Homes Champions for Child Safety Pro Am Golf Tournament raised $533,000 to support the foundation’s prevention education programs. The event took place at The Palencia Club in St. Augustine and allowed corporate teams and individuals to play alongside professional golfers.

Edward Burr, MBF Founder and Board Chairman, said, “It is one of the greatest honors to witness the roots of Monique’s legacy bloom into the powerful force it is today. What began as a vision grounded in compassion has grown into a lifeline—one that has served, empowered, and protected countless children. Every young life touched is a reminder of Monique’s enduring impact and the extraordinary community that continues to carry her mission forward.”

Funds from the tournament will go toward MBF Prevention Education programs aimed at educating youth on how to prevent, recognize, and respond to bullying, online exploitation, child abuse, trafficking, and other types of victimization.

Tanya Ramos-Puig, MBF Chief Executive Officer, stated: “MBF has achieved yet another year of transformational impact, reaching 18.5 million youth this year. Children and teens served through our prevention education programs are now educated and empowered to recognize and report child abuse, bullying, online dangers, exploitation, and trafficking. This is a remarkable milestone, and it’s a testament to the dedication and passion of every individual who supported and sponsored this event. Together we will continue to prioritize the safety of our most vulnerable citizens—children!”

Over the past year alone, MBF increased its reach by more than two million children. Since its founding in 1997 by Edward E. Burr in honor of his late wife Monique Burr—a dedicated child advocate—the organization has delivered its evidence-based programs across 42 states including Puerto Rico as well as six countries worldwide.

Sponsors for this year’s tournament included Dream Finders Homes as title sponsor; AT&T, Jax Utilities Management, Lennar, and MJC Land Development as presenting sponsors; along with numerous platinum, gold, and silver level sponsors.

MBF provides several school-based initiatives such as MBF Child Safety Matters (Grades Pre-K – 5), MBF Teen Safety Matters (Grades 6 – 12), extra-curricular Athlete Safety Matters (Grades K – 12), and After-School Safety Matters (Grades K – 8). These trauma-informed primary prevention programs have been delivered both nationally and internationally.
