Duke Energy Florida employees contributed to over $1 million in community investments during 2025, according to a recent announcement from the company. The funds were raised through a combination of employee donations, the dollar value of volunteer service, and matching contributions from the Duke Energy Foundation.

From January through November 2025, employees gave more than $293,000 to various causes and volunteered nearly 11,000 hours within their local communities. The company estimates the value of these volunteer hours at over $380,000. The Duke Energy Foundation matched both donations and volunteer time with an additional $387,000.

“Caring for our customers is intrinsic to the work Duke Energy employees do every day, so it’s no surprise that they would choose to continue giving back however they can,” said Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida state president. “I’m proud to work alongside these incredibly generous men and women who are living out our company’s core principles, and in turn, creating real, tangible value for the people and communities we serve.”

In addition to supporting employee efforts, the Duke Energy Foundation made further investments throughout its 35-county service area in Florida. These included $300,000 dedicated to climate resiliency initiatives; $789,000 provided to colleges and universities; $163,000 awarded as emergency preparedness and resiliency grants; and $125,000 allocated for food insecurity programs.

The company also noted that it recognizes customers are facing increased costs in many areas. Duke Energy Florida is working to manage its own expenses while helping customers find ways to reduce their bills.
