Florida’s Department of Education has allocated $40 million to expand workforce education programs across the state. Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas announced the funding through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP), targeting high-demand industries.
The latest round of funding will support 49 programs, increasing their workforce capacity by 59 percent. Since its launch in 2023, the Workforce CAP initiative has distributed a total of $240 million to strengthen Florida’s workforce education and prepare students for key sectors.
“Florida’s workforce is stronger than ever because we are investing directly in students and the programs that prepare them for success,” said Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas. “This $40 million investment expands opportunities across the state, giving students access to cutting-edge training and ensuring Florida remains the best place to build a career.”
Workforce CAP grants fund both new and expanded career and technical education offerings at high school and postsecondary levels. These programs provide hands-on training leading to industry-recognized certifications, aiming to equip students with skills relevant to emerging industries and support Florida’s economic growth.
More details about the grant program and application procedures can be found on the CAP Grant page of the FDOE website.
