Florida Blue Foundation has announced new grants aimed at improving mental health outcomes and expanding the workforce of mental health professionals in Florida. The 2025 mental well-being grants are focused on two main areas: increasing the number of mental health professionals and addressing community mental health challenges.

Susan Towler, executive director of Florida Blue Foundation, stated, “By supporting programs that foster mental well-being across the lifespan – from children and teens to adults and seniors – and by helping to increase the pipeline of mental health professionals, we aim to create a ripple effect of hope and healing that will be felt for generations to come. Our goal is to help mitigate the stressors that can impact entire families and communities, and to ensure that everyone across the state, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.”

These grants continue the Foundation’s ongoing work in promoting solutions for mental well-being. Over the past six years, Florida Blue Foundation has awarded 69 grants totaling $22 million to various organizations working in this area.

The Foundation was established in 2001 with a focus on enabling healthy communities through grant-making, coalition building, and addressing issues such as food security, community health, and disparities in healthcare access. According to its data, an average of 10 million Floridians benefit annually from its community investments.

Florida Blue is recognized as a leading health insurer in Florida with over six million members across all counties in the state. It operates as part of GuideWell and employs more than 8,000 people. The company offers a range of health plans for individuals, families, businesses, and Medicare beneficiaries.
