Florida’s annual Insurance Summit, organized by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, will take place on December 4-5, 2025 at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes. The event comes as Florida’s insurance market shows some positive trends, including new carriers entering the market and reductions in rates. However, challenges remain for both insurers and consumers.
The summit will bring together industry leaders, regulators, and experts to discuss a range of issues facing Florida’s insurance sector. Michael Yaworsky, Insurance Commissioner from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address focusing on the state’s insurance market.
Panels will address topics such as auto insurance with speakers including Michael Carlson of the Personal Insurance Federation of Florida and Vickie Kilgore from the Insurance Research Council. Homeowner’s insurance will be discussed by Tim Cerio from Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and Gina Wilson from the Florida Hurricane Fund. Reinsurance and risk transfer sessions will feature Jason Rudis from the Reinsurance Association of America and John Seo from Fermat Capital Management LLC.
Other sessions include discussions on artificial intelligence in insurance led by Rob Henderson from Meenan Law Firm and Lindsey Klarkowski from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. Fraud prevention—referred to as “Florida Fraudemic”—will also be covered by experts such as Ashley Kalifeh from Capital City Consulting and Scott Jalowiec from Uber.
Medical malpractice insurance rates will be examined by William Large of the Florida Justice Reform Institute and Stacy Carrozza of Lakeland Regional Health. Commercial auto insurance issues are set to be addressed by John Huff of the Association of Bermuda Insurers & Reinsurers and Alix Miller from the Florida Trucking Association.
Executive perspectives on Florida’s broader insurance landscape will be provided by Steve Weinstein, CEO of Mangrove Insurance; John Rollins, CEO of Patriot Insurance; Don Matz, CEO of Orange Insurance Exchange; and Angel Conlin, Chief Insurance Officer at Kin Insurance.
Mark Wilson, President & CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce stated: “Over the last two and a half years, we’ve seen historic insurance reforms begin to take root and benefit consumers, but we’re not done yet. The Insurance Summit is where Florida’s leaders come together to discuss the future of Florida’s insurance market, protecting consumers, and making Florida the best place to live, work, learn, and do business.”
