The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is set to begin a technical hearing on Monday, October 6, 2025, to review Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request for a base rate increase. The session will be held at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee and will start at 9:30 a.m.

During the hearing, FPL and other parties involved in the case will have the opportunity to present sworn testimony and supporting exhibits. This process allows all sides to formally share their positions regarding the proposed rate changes.

FPL submitted its petition for a base rate adjustment to the FPSC on February 28, 2025. In preparation for this hearing, the Commission organized ten service hearings in May and June of this year—three conducted virtually and seven held in person—to collect feedback from customers about FPL’s quality of service and its requested rate change. FPL currently serves six million customer accounts across Northwest and peninsular Florida.

A live broadcast of the upcoming hearing will be available online through the FPSC website by selecting “Watch Live and Archived PSC Events.” Additional coverage may also be provided by The Florida Channel depending on local television listings.
