Florida has achieved its highest high school graduation rate, reaching 92.2% for the 2024-25 academic year, according to an announcement made by Governor Ron DeSantis during the State of the State address. This figure represents a 2.5 percentage point increase from the previous year and a 4.9 percentage point rise since the 2021-22 school year.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on the new milestone, stating, “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
The state attributes this continued progress to policies emphasizing high standards, accountability, parental rights, and expanded educational options for families under Governor DeSantis’ administration. Officials highlight that these efforts are part of a broader strategy aimed at ensuring all students are prepared for postsecondary education and future careers.
