Florida’s high school graduation rate has reached a new peak, with 92.2% of students graduating in the 2024-25 school year. This figure was announced by Governor Ron DeSantis during the State of the State address and represents an increase of 2.5 percentage points from the previous year. Since the 2021-22 school year, Florida’s graduation rate has risen by 4.9 percentage points.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on this achievement, stating: “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
The rise in graduation rates comes as Florida continues to focus on high standards, accountability measures, parental rights, and expanded educational choices for families across the state. The administration attributes this progress to efforts aimed at ensuring all students are prepared for further education or careers after high school.
