Beginning January 20, the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi will start a new free weekday commuter service in Miami Beach. The route, called the Miami Beach Water Taxi, aims to help residents and employees commute more efficiently between Maurice Gibb Memorial Park and Venetian Marina.
The service will run Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Departures are scheduled every hour from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and every half hour from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Two vessels, each able to carry up to 55 passengers, will operate on this route.
Bill Walker, CEO of Water Taxi, said, “This service is about supporting the local workforce and offering a practical alternative to driving. By providing a free commuter route during the workweek, we’re helping reduce traffic congestion while giving people a convenient and enjoyable way to experience Miami Beach from the water.”
No ticket or reservation is required for this complimentary service. Riders can check for schedule updates or additional information by following Water Taxi on social media or visiting the city of Miami Beach’s official website.
Water Taxi offers transportation along South Florida’s waterways with daily routes and special services connecting residents and visitors to important destinations by water.
