HCA Florida Healthcare continues to offer its Consult-A-Nurse hotline, providing free health advice around the clock. The service is designed to assist people with a range of medical concerns, from parents with questions about their newborns to individuals unsure whether they are experiencing minor symptoms or something more serious.

“Whether you’re a parent of a newborn with questions in the middle of the night, or not sure if you are experiencing heart burn or a heart attack, we are here to provide information or direct you to the right place at the right time to receive care,” said Mary Tabor, MSN, RN, NE-BC, chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital.

The Consult-A-Nurse program began in 2022 and has served nearly 54,000 callers throughout Florida this year. The service is open to everyone regardless of insurance status or whether they are current patients of HCA Florida Healthcare. Translation services for several languages including Spanish are available. This initiative is part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s efforts to expand access through its network.
