The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is encouraging locals and districts to honor members who have died, been injured, or become ill due to their work by adding a personalized brick to the IAM Workers Memorial. The memorial is located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The deadline for ordering personalized bricks for this year’s observance is Sunday, March 1, 2026. Bricks can be purchased in several formats: a standard brick with three lines of text for $100; a similar brick including the IAM logo for $125; or an 8×8 brick with additional lines of text for $200. A commemorative tile is also available for $10.

Bricks placed at the memorial serve as tributes from individuals, lodges, and members to commemorate those lost due to workplace incidents. The IAM notes that if a local has lost a member on the job or because of work-related causes, they may request a complimentary brick by submitting an order form.

The IAM Workers’ Memorial was completed in 2001 as a tribute to workers who have died while working. Each year, a ceremony is held at the site to remember those lost and emphasize ongoing efforts to prevent workplace injuries and fatalities. Details about this year’s ceremony will be announced soon.

“The deadline to order personalized bricks is Sunday, March 1, 2026.”

“For $100, you can purchase a brick with three lines of text, each line having up to 20 characters (including spaces). The brick will not feature the logo.
For $125, you can choose a brick with three lines of text, up to 15 characters per line, and include the IAM logo.
Alternatively, an 8Ă—8 brick is available for $200. This larger brick allows for six lines of text (up to 20 characters per line) without a logo, or five lines of text (up to 20 characters per line) with either the IAM logo or your preferred logo.
For $10, you can purchase a commemorative tile to show your support     and solidarity.”

“If your local has a member who lost their life on the job or due to work-related causes, a complimentary brick will be placed in their honor. To request a complimentary brick, please submit the completed order form.”

“Completed in 2001, the IAM Workers’ Memorial stands as a powerful tribute to workers who have lost their lives while on the job. The memorial is surrounded by bricks bearing the names of fallen members, as well as contributions from lodges and dedicated IAM members.”

“Each year, a ceremony is held at the memorial to remember the workers we’ve lost and renew our commitment to preventing workplace injuries and fatalities. The date for this year’s event will be announced soon.”
