IAM District 837 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced that its bargaining committee and Boeing Defense will resume negotiations on Monday. A federal mediator will assist in the talks as both sides seek to resolve the ongoing strike.
The IAM represents about 600,000 active and retired members working in various industries across North America, including aerospace, defense, airlines, shipbuilding, rail, transit, healthcare, and automotive.
In a statement released by IAM District 837, union officials said: “The bargaining committees for Boeing and IAM 837 have agreed to return to negotiations on Monday with the help of a federal mediator in an effort to find a path to end the strike.”
The outcome of these negotiations may impact workers in multiple sectors represented by the IAM.
