More than 3,200 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 837 at Boeing’s St. Louis facilities are set to vote on a revised contract offer from the company. The vote is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, starting at 10 a.m. Central Time. If members reject the new proposal, a strike will begin at midnight on Monday, August 4.
The modified contract includes several changes from Boeing’s previous offer. The company has withdrawn its Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS) proposal, meaning that current overtime policies will remain in place. Employees at maximum pay will receive an added annual increase of 50 cents per hour. For pension-eligible workers, there will be a full $10 pension multiplier increase in the first year instead of spreading it over three years; however, only those retiring after January 1, 2026 are eligible for this benefit.
Other elements such as proposed wage increases totaling 20%, a $5,000 ratification bonus, vacation and sick leave provisions, and healthcare terms remain unchanged from earlier proposals.
IAM members had previously rejected Boeing’s initial contract offer by a large margin on July 27.
According to IAM representatives: “The IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) is one of North America’s largest and most diverse industrial trade unions, representing approximately 600,000 active and retired members in the aerospace, defense, airlines, shipbuilding, railroad, transit, healthcare, automotive, and other industries across the United States and Canada.”
