The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) encouraged all its districts and locals on Apr. 9 to identify members interested in attending the 2026 Pride at Work Convention, which will take place June 2-4, 2026, in Minneapolis.
Pride at Work is an AFL-CIO constituency group that supports equality, dignity, and respect for LGBTQIA+ workers. The IAM said the event’s mission matches the union’s own goals of promoting diversity and inclusion across workplaces and unions.
In a message to union members, the IAM Executive Council highlighted ongoing efforts such as expanding Human Rights Committees throughout its districts and locals. The council stated that these initiatives are designed to “ensure we are fighting for all workers and that every member is welcomed, respected and fully included in our union.”
The convention will be held at the Marquette Hotel with credentialing beginning June 1. The IAM advised attendees to reserve hotel rooms by May 1 due to limited availability after that date. Early registration for the event ends April 19.
Members with questions about the convention or participation were directed to contact IAM Human Rights Director Nicole Fears by email.
The announcement concluded by stating: “When we show up, engage, and stand together, we build a stronger, more inclusive IAM Union and a more powerful labor movement for all working people.”
