Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Executive Council and delegates met in Savannah, Georgia, to address key issues such as politics, the recent government shutdown, and strategies for increasing union voter participation before the 2026 midterm elections. The meeting focused on the need for union members to engage in the political process to strengthen their influence in the state.

Later in the week, International President Bryant delivered a keynote address at the Georgia State AFL-CIO convention, highlighting the union’s ongoing commitment to political advocacy and member mobilization.

The discussions and events are part of a broader effort by the IAM and allied organizations to increase their political power in Georgia, often referred to as the “Peach State.”
