The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition will open for applications on October 1, 2025. The deadline for submissions is set for Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications will be accepted online.

The competition is available to IAM members who have at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada.

Details about application procedures, rules, and eligibility can be found on the IAM Scholarship Competition page or by downloading the official calls provided in English and French.

In the previous year’s competition, more than 300 applicants participated. Sixteen scholarships were awarded, each valued at $4,000 per student. These scholarships went to both members and their children. The awards also include a vocational-technical two-year scholarship option for qualifying individuals.

The IAM Scholarship Fund was created by delegates to the organization’s Grand Lodge Convention in 1960 to support these awards.

Additional information about the scholarship program is available on the IAM Scholarship website.
