As the year comes to a close, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) International President Brian Bryant has shared a holiday message with union members and their families. In his statement, Bryant expressed appreciation for the contributions of IAM members across various industries.
Bryant highlighted the essential roles played by union members in sectors such as airports, railroads, shops, facilities, and worksites. He noted that their work keeps the country running even as others celebrate the holidays. “IAM Union members make the holidays happen – and your union couldn’t be prouder of the work you do,” Bryant said.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by workers during this period. “I see the sacrifice, the long hours, and the pride you take in your craft. It doesn’t go unnoticed,” he stated.
Bryant also emphasized that the union is more than just contracts and negotiations. “The holidays also remind us that our union is more than contracts and negotiations – it’s a family. It’s the way we show up for one another, lift each other, and make sure no member stands alone. That spirit of solidarity is what makes the IAM Union strong, and it’s what gives me hope for the year ahead.”
He concluded his message by thanking members for their efforts not only within the union but also in their communities. “Thank you for everything you do, not just for our union, but for your communities and for working people everywhere. We are grateful for each and every one of you.”
On behalf of himself and the entire IAM Executive Council, Bryant extended wishes for peace, warmth, gratitude during this season, and hope in the coming year.
