The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers held its annual MNPL Conference in Savannah, Ga. on March 31, bringing together approximately 300 union members focused on labor politics and fundraising. The event included updates from legislative leaders about strategies for the upcoming midterm elections.
The conference serves as an important opportunity for IAM delegates to coordinate political efforts and discuss legislative priorities that impact workers. Participants received information on the current political landscape and guidance for advancing labor interests during a critical election year.
Following the conference, IAM delegates joined the No Kings rally and march in downtown Savannah. During this demonstration, participants voiced criticism of the President’s labor policies, highlighting concerns over their effect on workers.
Events like these reflect ongoing engagement by organized labor in shaping public policy through both advocacy and direct action. The combination of conference discussions with public demonstrations illustrates how unions seek to influence both legislation and public opinion ahead of major elections.
