MOCA Jacksonville has announced the addition of several new members to its Board of Trustees, each bringing experience from various fields to support the museum’s mission in advancing arts and culture in Northeast Florida.

The new trustees include Virginia Becker, an entrepreneur and designer with a background at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Becker is also known for her work with Terra Innovations and her involvement in philanthropy since moving to Northeast Florida.

Melanie Busby joins the board with experience in health sciences and community leadership. She has chaired parent associations at The Bolles School, served on the Wolfson Children’s Development Council, and co-chaired the Angelwood Annual Gala. This year, she will also co-host MOCA’s main fundraising event.

Emily Chaves serves as the UNF Student Representative on the board. Her previous roles include working with Art with a Heart in Healthcare and holding leadership positions at UNF, focusing on accessibility and inclusion through art.

David Engdahl returns for his second term as a trustee. He is recognized as both a sculptor and architect whose works are held by several museums across the country. Engdahl has received awards such as the National Endowment for the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship and has been active on multiple arts boards in Jacksonville.

Inger Loftheim Geraghty brings corporate sales experience along with service on boards including those of the American Heart Association and Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center. She is noted for her advocacy in breast cancer education and local philanthropic initiatives.

Shanna Khan is President of Khan Family Office and CEO of Shanna Collective, overseeing real estate development projects like Four Seasons Hotel Jacksonville and Jacksonville Shipyards. Her leadership focuses on reshaping Downtown Jacksonville’s Northbank district through major development efforts.

Brian Moore joins as Vice President and Senior Relationship Strategist at PNC Private Bank. With nearly 30 years’ experience in financial planning, Moore contributes expertise in strategic planning to help sustain MOCA’s cultural programs.

“These new trustees embody the values of innovation, collaboration, and community,” said Caitlín Doherty, Associate Vice President of Arts UNF and Executive Director of MOCA Jacksonville. “Their leadership will help us expand our impact and ensure that contemporary art remains a vital force in Northeast Florida. I am extremely grateful for their passion and commitment to MOCA, and look forward to working with them and our entire MOCA Board as we look ahead to an exciting future at MOCA Jackonville.”

MOCA Jacksonville is located downtown and operates as part of Arts UNF at the University of North Florida. It holds accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums—a distinction achieved by only three percent of U.S. museums—and continues its focus on exhibitions featuring works created from 1960 onward.
