The Sunny, a newly renovated hotel in Sunny Isles Beach, is set to open in October. The property, previously known as the Newport Beachside Resort, has undergone significant changes under the direction of its third-generation family owners.

The updated hotel features 340 redesigned rooms and introduces six new dining and cocktail venues. Among these is ¡VIVA!, led by Chef Ray Garcia, which will serve modern Mexican-American dishes with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Additional offerings include an art program in the lobby, a mezcal tasting lounge located under the stairs, beachside fire pits, and live music events.

Located near the historic Newport Pier—one of Miami’s last public fishing piers—the resort aims to provide guests with unique experiences that highlight local culture and hospitality. According to its management, The Sunny seeks to create an environment where visitors can “stumble onto something special.”
