Renovations are currently underway at Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville, focusing on improving and expanding family activity spaces for families whose children are receiving medical care. The nonprofit has selected Cerris Builders as the general contractor for the project.

The renovation is being supported by a major contribution from the Terry Family Foundation. The work will update approximately 2,200 square feet of space, creating three new areas: KidVenture, a play area for children; The Hangout, a space for teens; and Adventure Alley, which will connect these rooms and include a new public restroom.

Cerris Builders Operations Manager Sam Whetstone said, “We are honored to support the incredible work of Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville. We want to help ensure families have welcoming and comforting spaces during their most challenging times.”

Construction began in September 2025 and is expected to finish in early 2026. During this period, Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville will continue to operate as usual so that families can keep using its services without interruption. The facility includes 53 rooms across 68,000 square feet in Jacksonville’s San Marco neighborhood. Amenities include a movie theater, fitness center, interactive play areas, rooftop garden, and two kitchen areas. Families stay at no cost while their children receive treatment.

Cerris Builders’ parent company also supports Ronald McDonald House Charities across the country. More information about Cerris Builders can be found at www.cerrisbuilders.com.
