Notaro is recognized for her work as a comedian, actor, writer, director, producer, and podcast host. She has received nominations from major awards including the Emmys, Grammys, Writers Guild of America (WGA), and Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Rolling Stone listed her among the top 50 stand-up comics of all time.

Her recent acting credits include appearances in Season 3 of “The Morning Show” on Apple TV+ and “Star Trek: Discovery” on Paramount+. Notaro also appeared in Netflix films such as “Your Place Or Mine,” “We Have A Ghost,” and Zack Snyder’s “Army Of The Dead.” She was featured in Paramount’s “Instant Family” with Mark Wahlberg and Octavia Spencer.

Notaro wrote, produced, and starred in the Amazon Prime Video series “One Mississippi,” which she also directed for its second season premiere. The series received critical acclaim and several award nominations including WGA, GLAAD, and Critics’ Choice Awards.

Her HBO special “Drawn” was notable for being fully animated—the first stand-up special of its kind—and earned a Hollywood Critics Association Award nomination. Her earlier HBO special “Boyish Girl Interrupted” received Emmy and Grammy nominations. She also earned a GLAAD nomination for the Netflix documentary “Tig,” while her memoir became a New York Times Bestseller. In 2013, her comedy album “Live” reached number one worldwide after being recorded just days following her cancer diagnosis; she is now in remission.

In film directing, Notaro co-directed “Am I OK?” with her wife Stephanie Allynne; it premiered at Sundance in 2022 before debuting on HBO Max in June 2024. Notaro currently co-hosts the comedy podcast “Handsome” with Fortune Feimster and Mae Martin. Her most recent special “Tig Notaro: Hello Again” launched on Prime Video in March 2024 and received multiple Emmy nominations.

Additionally, Notaro produced “Come See Me In The Good Light,” which won Festival Favorite at Sundance in 2025 and will premiere this fall on Apple TV.
