Turner Pest Control, a Florida-based pest management company and part of Anticimex, is marking National Rodent Awareness Week by offering guidance to homeowners on how to protect their homes from rodents as cooler weather approaches. The awareness week runs from October 19 through October 25.

According to Turner Pest Control, rodents enter approximately 21 million homes in the United States each year, with incidents peaking during fall and winter months. These animals can cause property damage by chewing through food packaging and electrical wiring. They also pose health risks by spreading diseases, contaminating surfaces, and triggering allergies.

Donnie Sanderson, Head of SMART at Turner Pest Control, stated: “Rodents are more than a nuisance, they’re a health and safety risk. Our SMART technology takes the guesswork out of rodent control, giving homeowners peace of mind through continuous monitoring and rapid response.”

The company is highlighting its SMART Rodent Control system during the awareness week. This digital monitoring solution provides round-the-clock detection and prevention for infestations before they become widespread.

Turner Pest Control advises that while do-it-yourself solutions may provide short-term relief from rodent problems, these pests often return without professional intervention. The company recommends partnering with experienced providers for inspection, prevention measures, and proactive treatment to ensure long-term protection for both residential and commercial properties.
