The U.S. Census Bureau released new data on Mar. 26 from the Household Trends and Outlook Pulse Survey, known as HTOPS, covering a range of topics including food and nutrition, health and well-being, transportation, employment, and education.
The release provides updated information that can help inform federal agencies as they assess socioeconomic conditions in the United States. The survey is designed to support operational and policy needs by offering timely insights into household trends.
According to the Census Bureau, about 30,000 households were sampled for this round of data collection in April 2025. The dataset offers insights not only at the national level but also for smaller geographic areas defined by the bureau.
HTOPS is described as an experimental product that collects information every other month on both core subjects and rotating topics relevant to U.S. households. The agency said that users can access public-use files from HTOPS to create customized tables for further analysis.
Additional data collected later in 2025 are expected to be released in the coming months.
