The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach has announced the launch of Winter WonderIsland, a seasonal event that will run from November 28, 2025, to January 5, 2026. The event aims to offer guests a coastal holiday experience with themed activities and entertainment set along the Gulf of Mexico.

During Winter WonderIsland, the resort will feature Coastal Winter Chalets available for private rental. Each chalet accommodates up to eight people and includes amenities such as a tabletop fire pit, s’mores kits, hot cocoa kits, and cocktail service. Chalet reservations also include one hour of access to a curling rink.

April Sarver, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach, said: “The holidays are a special time along the Emerald Coast, and we wanted to create something that truly captures the coastal magic. Winter WonderIsland brings together everything we love about the season – community, connection and celebration – all with the beauty of the Gulf as the backdrop.”

Guests can participate in various activities throughout December including holiday movie nights, gingerbread house decorating sessions, and hot chocolate Fridays. Signature events on the schedule include Breakfast with Santa on December 13; Cookies & Crafts with The Grump on December 20–21; a Christmas dinner buffet on December 25; and a Noon Kids’ Eve Ball Drop on December 31 followed by an adult champagne toast at midnight.

A key highlight is The Island’s fifth annual Beachy Little Christmas: A Sandcastle Spectacular scheduled for Saturday, December 13. This public event features live music, local vendors, crafts activities, a meet-and-greet with Misty the Mermaid, and sandcastle building contests.

Additional offerings during Winter WonderIsland include themed cocktails such as the Island Exclusive Old Fashioned and Mistletoe Margarita. Food trucks will be present onsite alongside live entertainment. Families can drop letters to Santa in a red mailbox located in the lobby.

The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach was established in 1966 on Okaloosa Island and offers over 600 feet of private beach along with three pools and multiple dining options. The property features more than 24,000 square feet of meeting space for events and provides amenities like live music performances and beachside yoga sessions for guests.
